Come Bye Border Collie Rescue adult dogs offered for adoption have been heartworm tested and are on heartworm preventative, spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped and, in season, on flea/tick preventative.
Come Bye Border Collie Rescue puppies are wormed for intestinal parasites, received their age appropriate vaccines and are microchipped. If too young to spay or neuter, the adopter will agree to spay or neuter the puppy as a part of the adoption, along with the payment of an additional $100 deposit.

Meet Penny,
Penny, who just celebrated her second birthday, is a delightful smooth coat, tri-color female Border Collie. She has beautiful white markings on her face, chest and front paws with a little white puffball on the tip of her tail. Penny has a distinct oval black marking on the center top of her head, and her ears are stand up perfect with a small tip. Penny weighs in at about 50 lbs, she will make someone an affectionate, loyal, friendly companion.
Penny gets along well with my two Border Collies (male and female); she is just now starting to interact in playtime. Her favorite thing is gathering toys, balls, and old socks which she keeps in her private spaces. She initially is shy and might bark upon meeting someone new but is quickly warming up to people and has done well with briefly passing other dogs on walks. She does exhibit minimum herding tendencies in her interaction with my male, nothing that I see as being troublesome, just part of being a BC. Penny has not been crated but does like her spaces (under a chair, in a basement shower and under the stairs). She is getting better at going on walks, sometimes nervous but with a little encouragement is good to go (she first
would hide but was amenable to the leash, now she is ready at the back door). No accidents in
the house; she tends to go outside, get her business done then go back inside. Her demeanor is changing over the time I have had her, the more comfortable she gets her ears are up and her tail is wagging. She runs to the door when my neighbor visits and enjoys sitting outside with him (see video of Penny giving him kisses).
Penny will benefit from and requires training (she does sit when asked with treats). There is no problem when all my dogs are fed in the same general area. She notices squirrels and deer but has shown no interest in chasing them and/or pulling the leash. The groomer gave her an A+ for listening, being bathed and brushed. She has no problems with being toweled dry (after rain) and being brushed. There have been no issues with her trying to escape my fenced in yard. The car is not her favorite place to be; she does her best to hide but is not car sick, does not pant and is not overly nervous.
Penny is a girl who has come a long way in the time she has spent in foster care with my two
dogs. I am not sure about cats and/or younger children. She deserves a loving owner who will
be patient and who will in kind be rewarded with lots of kisses. Penny was surrendered to
CBBCR and is being fostered in Long Beach, IN
